We are delighted that in May 2025, Amano Enzyme came onboard as an inaugural partner of the scholarship. Since then, Amano Enzyme visited UCL in July to meet academics within UCL’s Department of Biochemical Engineering where we discussed student engagement and sponsored research opportunities.
A later visit will take place in September 2025 between more senior members of staff to formalise the partnership at a senior level.
Speaking about the partnership UCL’s Associate Director of Development, Nick Marsden, comments “We are very thankful to Amano Enzyme for supporting Japanese students to study with us. UCL is proud to have a long-standing relationship with Japan dating back to the Chōshū Five, who studied here, so we are delighted to be able to work with the Embassy and Japanese companies in this way. It is exciting that through supporting the Musubi scholarship, we’ve been able to connect Amano Enzyme to other parts of UCL to explore further partnership opportunities which align with their business objectives.”
There are plenty more opportunities for Japanese companies to support the Musubi Scholarship at UCL. Please email [email protected] to find out more.
