Building connections, looking to the future

Second LSEG Women in Finance Event

LSEG and MUSUBI hosted the second edition of the Women in Finance programme, bringing together finance professionals, business leaders and emerging talent in Tokyo on 17 June 2026.

The event formed part of the MUSUBI initiative’s commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties and fostering greater diversity and inclusion across the financial sector. The programme featured keynote remarks by Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley DBE, Lady Mayor of the City of London, a panel discussion and networking opportunities for participants.

A total of 100 participants attended on the day, representing a high attendance rate over 90%. The strong turnout reflects continued demand for platforms that support dialogue, professional development and collaboration between the UK and Japan’s financial communities.

The event opened with remarks from Mr. Ryu Hirayama, LSEG Japan Country Head, followed by a keynote speech from Dame Susan Langley DBE, Lady Mayor of London. Participants then engaged in a panel discussion exploring leadership, career development and the importance of creating more inclusive pathways within the financial industry before continuing conversations during an extended networking reception.

Launched under the MUSUBI initiative, the Women in Finance series aims to connect professionals from across the UK and Japan, encourage knowledge exchange and highlight the valuable contributions of women across the financial ecosystem.
