MUSUBI Women’s Economic Empowerment Networking Event
16 December 2025

On 8 August 2025, the British Embassy Tokyo and the Government of Japan co-hosted a Women’s Economic Empowerment event at the UK Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. This gathering marked the first in-person event under the Women’s Economic Empowerment chapter of the UK–Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, bringing together female exporters from both nations to forge stronger ties and explore new avenues for cooperation.

Building on this momentum, on 16 December 2025, UK Consul General Michael Blyth welcomed participants from the August Forum to a dynamic networking reception. The evening united female exporters and key champions of women’s economic empowerment in Japan. Together, they engaged in meaningful dialogue on the opportunities and challenges shaping women’s role in driving economic growth. The event featured inspiring keynote addresses from Minister Seema Malhotra MP, Minister for the Indo-Pacific and Minister for Equalities, and Setsu Suzuki, CEO and Co-Founder of FemUniti.
These events form a part of the MUSUBI Women’s Economic Empowerment Network Programme.
