Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress visit the UK as guests of The King and Queen

The June 2024 State Visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan to the United Kingdom underscored the deepening of UK-Japan people-to-people ties and soft power collaboration.

Highlights included cultural engagements such as a special exhibition of Japanese items from the Royal Collection, and The King’s speech at the State Banquet, which celebrated centuries of mutual inspiration in arts, education, and innovation.

The visit also featured academic and scientific exchanges and reinforced a shared commitment to fostering mutual understanding through cultural diplomacy and people to people connections.
