As part of the MUSUBI Initiative, the British Embassy Tokyo and the Government of Japan co-hosted a Women’s Economic Empowerment event at the UK Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka in August 2025. This gathering marked the first in-person event under the Women’s Economic Empowerment chapter of the UK–Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, bringing together female exporters from both nations to forge stronger ties and explore new avenues for cooperation.
In December 2025, another dynamic networking event was hosted by the British Consulate-General Osaka, where attendees engaged in meaningful dialogue on the opportunities and challenges shaping women’s role in driving economic growth. The event featured inspiring keynote addresses from Minister Seema Malhotra MP, Minister for the Indo-Pacific and Minister for Equalities, and Setsu Suzuki, CEO and Co-Founder of FemUniti.
These events are just the beginning. Through MUSUBI, the Women’s Economic Empowerment Network aims to invest in the next generation of female leaders, fostering connections that will empower women to lead, innovate, and thrive in the UK and Japan.
