Building connections, looking to the future

Celebrating UK Alumni: A Warm Welcome Back to Japan

On 14 December 2025, the British Council hosted Japan’s first-ever “Welcome Back!” Homecoming Reception for Alumni UK members at Bellesalle Roppongi Grand Conference Center. This event brought together graduates who studied at UK universities since 2016, offering a chance to reconnect, share experiences, and explore new opportunities. With inspiring addresses from the British Ambassador and Seema Malhotra MP (Minister for the Indo-Pacific and Minister for Equalities), the gathering highlighted the enduring value of UK education and the global network it fosters.

The event also spotlighted the MUSUBI Initiative and featured a careers talk from MUSUBI Pioneer Partner Robert Walters, reflecting the shared commitment to building lasting bridges of connection between Japan and the UK. This homecoming celebration served as a catalyst for new collaborations and career opportunities, reinforcing the enduring value of UK connections.
