MUSUBI Women in the Board Room

This MUSUBI programme, led by Odgers Berndtson and Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc., supports emerging female leaders in Japan and the UK through mentorship by senior executives.

Aimed at addressing gender imbalance in leadership and strengthening UK-Japan ties, it empowers women at Director level and above to reach C-suite or Board roles with guidance from mentors committed to women’s advancement and cross-cultural collaboration.

Programme Details

Beginning: October 2025

Held twice yearly, in April and October.

Participation

Those who have strong connections to Japan, or the UK and who want to contribute to the strengthening of ties between the two countries. Participants must be able to communicate fluently in English.

Mentors: Senior executives and board members committed to women’s empowerment (gender-inclusive).

Mentees: Aspiring women leaders aiming for executive or board-level roles.

(Open globally, regardless of location.)

Programme Format
  • 1-to-1 mentoring sessions either online or in-person
  • Annual networking party held at the British Embassy Tokyo, held once a year.
Why this programme?

This mentoring programme pairs mentors and mentees of different cultural backgrounds to encourage diverse perspectives and grow future global leaders.
