Liverpool Football Club Foundation, in partnership with the Nippon Foundation, are rolling out the ‘Leaders of Tomorrow‘ programme across Japan.
This programme works with young people aged 7-12 across school and community settings, using the power of football and sports to engage holistic wraparound education, including resilience, self-esteem, confidence and leadership.
It also helps children in Japan develop non-cognitive skills through sports, with the LFC Foundation focusing on 3 pillars: health; learning and employability.
In the ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’ programme, the health pillar is achieved through sport, so the children can become more active in their community through sport and football. The learning part is through the programme elements which are delivered in the classroom. Then employability comes through encouraging the children to start thinking about what career they may want to do when they grow up, and the skills they may need in order to be successful in that career.
