The British Embassy Tokyo hosted a lunchtime reception attended by The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh to launch new UK-Japan partnership programmes as part of the MUSUBI Initiative, an innovative public-private partnership to encourage investment and grow the next generation of UK and Japanese leaders.
The presence of their Royal Highnesses reflects the deepening friendship and shared values between the United Kingdom and Japan.

The reception celebrated the launch of three new MUSUBI programmes. Odgers and Chubu Electric will support a mentorship scheme for emerging female leaders, whilst LSEG are providing a career support network for women in finance. Deloitte will support MUSUBI’s development into an independent foundation. Senior officials, business leaders, educators, and cultural figures from both nations gathered in the Ambassador’s ballroom at the British Embassy Tokyo to celebrate these programmes aimed at empowering youth, promoting sustainable development, and enhancing cultural exchange.
